WinQuota provides differnt builds for 32bit and 64bit systems; please download proper
installation. 32bit version will not run at 64bit system.
WinQuota works on W2k3 x64 (SP1 or newer service pack is required), and other 64bit platforms.
For Vista/W2k8 x64 you might need to disable only signed drivers support first.
We're working with new major release with all drivers to be signed and verified and
it will be available bit later.
Shadow volumes
WinQuota doesn't affect any work of shadow volumes unless you specify quotas for it.
Quota counts
In case you specify two or more quota limits for one subject (via groups or
"Anyone"), most restrictive limit will be used to stop file operations that
will exceed quotas, but quota counters will be updated for all limits being
played.
Professional vs Corporate
The key differnce between WinQuota Prof and WinQuota Corp is
features (Web Console, SNMP module, etc)
tuning (WinQuota Corp provides more complex but more flexible UI for administrators beginning from user selection dialog).
At practice, if you don't need these advanced features, we recommend to use WinQuota Prof. Both of these versions have the same core
functionality and similar interface in all cases it applicable.
Web Console
To use Web Console, you need to have IIS installed (and ASP support enabled for
IIS). At installation time, WinQuota checks for IIS and configures itself automatically.
In case you installed IIS and ASP later, WinQuota provides install4iis.js
script, so you can run it later if you need. This script creates application
named "winquota" at default web site (and usually you can use it with
URL).
In case you need to use WinQuota Web Console with other web sites in IIS, the
fastest way to clone it to use IIS MMC, backup into XML winquota application
settings, and restore it at other web site. In this case you'll have more
than one URL to operate with quota limits.
